Introducing our Peroxide Free Teeth Whitening Pen

Ever considered teeth whitening?  Ever considered teeth whitening without any peroxide?

Many people who consider teeth whitening may stray away after realizing that most teeth whitening products use hydrogen peroxide as its main whitening method.  Whether it be fear, sensitivity, preference of not using un-natural ingredients, these fair concerns are now a thing of the past. While hydrogen peroxide is not unsafe, the option for a different alternative, such as non-peroxide whitening is an amazing innovation we now offer here at Start Pure®.

The Start Pure® Peroxide Free Teeth Whitening Pen is the most natural, organic, and holistic way to whiten teeth that is 100% safe for everyone, even people with systemic diseases who cannot use the chemicals of peroxide (always consult your physician first).  The patented peroxide free gel is the most effective gel in the market that effectively removes extrinsic stains caused by coffee, red wine, smoking, and other external factors.  Our patented silicone tip applicator allows effective and precise application of our peroxide free gel on all surfaces of teeth, even hard to reach areas.

So many of you may wonder….how can a peroxide free whitening pen actually whiten teeth?  The answer is somewhat simple: rather than using peroxide, we use a different and effective alternative, sodium bicarbonate (aka baking soda).  Sodium bicarbonate, along with the other ingredients (such as Vitamin C and antioxidants) in our pens effectively removes stains and whitens up to 8 shades in as little as a few days!

Our pens are 100% enamel safe, 100% peroxide free, and 100% made in the USA (we like to think of ourselves as a triple threat).  Go ahead; give peroxide free whitening a try.  Leave the stress and worries of sensitivity elsewhere, Start Pure® Peroxide Free Teeth Whitening Pen is your newest teeth whitening solution!

Boosts Self-Confidence

This may come as the most obvious advantage, but a lot of people don’t realize how much of a positive effect this can have on one’s self esteem.  Brightening your smile can really boost your self-confidence and improve the way you feel about yourself.  It’s a quick and simple process that can have life-lasting effects!

Treat Others More Positively

When you feel better about yourself, you treat others most positively (it’s just a simple equation of life).  Positive people encourage and uplift others, so this confidence booster is a win-win for everyone!

Easily Accessible and Affordable

Aside from the immediate and visible changes of teeth whitening, there is also another huge advantage to teeth whitening- it is easily accessible and affordable.  Teeth whitening can range anywhere from a few dollars to a few hundred, which we find quite reasonable considering it achieves a major cosmetic difference!  So visit your local dental office or find professional strength teeth whitening products here:

Improves Appearance Quickly and Drastically

Whitening your teeth is one of the simplest ways to take decades off your age.  Given this easy ‘fix’, millions of people take advantage of the various teeth whitening methods to achieve drastic results.  There are many ways to whiten your teeth, but an effective and quick solution like Start Pure’s Nite & Day Teeth Whitening Pens is one of your best bets!

No Harmful Side Effects or Downtime

One of the biggest advantages to teeth whitening is that there are no side effects or downtime.  Typically, with cosmetic procedures, people can expect to be out of work anywhere from a few days to months.  On the other hand, an at-home teeth whitening or even a 20 minute in-office professional teeth whitening has absolutely no side effects and absolutely no downtime!

Bleaching & Whitening Strips vs. Teeth Whitening Pens

Teeth are the most important feature a person carries. Through a smile, you earn trust, express kindness, and promote a healthy lifestyle.

There is a major difference when it comes to bleaching strips (whitening strips) and teeth whitening pens, and an even bigger misunderstanding between the two. We want to discuss and clarify how the two teeth whitening techniques work and how they differ.

According to the ADA, whitening strips are small pieces of polyethylene (flexible plastic) that mold to the teeth. On these strips, hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide (depending on the brand) breaks down and oxidizes into the teeth; this oxidation process works to whiten the teeth. In addition to oxidation and the technical side of this whitening process, there are additional factors to take into consideration when applying bleaching strips. Bleaching, or whitening strips, can get very messy and inconvenient. They usually have a film across the back that needs to be peeled off before applying the strip to the teeth. Once the strip has adhered to the teeth, extra caution is required and they can get very uncomfortable. Some people even drool because their mouth is so relaxed from trying to prevent the strip from slipping and moving around. Whitening strips seem to have been the preferred technique of the past, that wasn’t until teeth whitening pens came about.

Teeth whitening pens are one of the most effective methods of teeth whitening. Not only do they contain high quality teeth whitening gel, but they also offer the most convenience and ease of application. They’re as simple as tossing it in a gym bag or purse and applying the pen to or from work. They only require a few upward and downward motions on the teeth and you can continue about your day without worrying about any mess or discomfort. The application of a teeth whitening pen is the most effective since the silicone rubber tip can penetrate the enamel, allowing the whitening gel to work on all layers of the teeth, resulting in the optimal level of whiteness. Teeth whitening pens are the most effortless and effective method of whitening, and they have quickly become the most preferred teeth whitening method of choice.

Is Teeth Whitening Really Safe?

Most teeth whitening products ARE SAFE, if (don’t you hate those if’s, unfortunately they’re necessary) you consider the following:

The majority of teeth whitening products (both professional and over-the-counter) contain some sort of hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide.  These two bleaching agents are the most effective for whitening teeth quickly and effectively.  Other non-peroxide teeth whitening products typically contain sodium bicarbonate (aka baking soda), which is also effective in whitening teeth.

There are many things to consider when thinking about whitening teeth (such as our previous blog post).  If you have reviewed most of the concepts we mentioned, have a healthy dental regimen, and want whiter teeth, then we can confidently say teeth whitening is safe.  We cannot speak for other companies since everyone uses different ingredients, secret recipes, etc.  At Start Pure™, we have a big group of trained staff, a practicing dentist of more than 20+ years, a physician, and continuous study and research on our products.  We like to consider (and very well know) we are the most effective and safest teeth whitening brand on the market.  All of our products have been tested and proven to be effective, without any side effects.  And if you’re worried about peroxide based products or if you’re extremely sensitive to peroxide, we even offer peroxide free teeth whitening pens!

So to answer the question, “is teeth whitening safe?” Yes, at Start Pure® we can recommend all of our teeth whitening products to almost anyone!

Methods of Teeth Whitening: Teeth Whitening Gels, Strips, Toothpaste, Bleaching, and More

There are many options to consider when thinking about teeth whitening.  Teeth whitening products can include everything from gels, toothpastes, strips, trays, bleaching, and more.  Here, we will break down the different methods mentioned and allow you to determine the right fit for you!  Remember, not everyone was created equal, so your teeth shouldn’t have to suffer!

First, we will discuss Over-The-Counter options:

Whitening Toothpastes

First and foremost, if you’re looking to see a dramatic difference, whitening toothpastes will not achieve those results.  Typically, whitening toothpastes only lighten the teeth about one shade.  This is due to the minimal agents and polishes found in whitening toothpastes.  These minimal agents and polishes will only remove surface stains, but will not go deep into the root of the tooth.  On the other hand, light-activated whitening (such as Start Pure™) performed at a professional dental center will give a 3-8 shade lighter difference.

Whitening Gels

Whitening gels are typically used to extend the lifetime of whitening (used after an in-office treatment).  They are also used due to their simplicity, on-the-go, and effectiveness at home.  Whitening gels are typically clear, can be flavored, and applied with a small brush as a pen directly to your teeth.  Start Pure™ offers different applicators, such as foam tips, brushes, and silicone.  Start Pure™ also offers different flavors, such as apple-mint, peppermint, lavender-mint, and vanilla-mint.  These whitening pens are generally recommended to be used twice a day for fourteen days at home, with the option to apply in between uses for even more effectiveness.  The difference between whitening gels and whitening strips (aside from the convenience and ease of gels) is the application and effectiveness of gels.  For example, Start Pure’s™ whitening pens contain 16% hydrogen peroxide as opposed to the 2%-4% hydrogen peroxide found in whitening strips.  Another huge difference is the application.  Tooth surfaces are 3-dimensional/angulated which means a whitening strip will only reach the flat surface and will not penetrate the entire 3-dimensional teeth.  On the other hand, teeth whitening gels can be applied in all crevices and around all tooth surfaces.  Due to Start Pure’s™ unique formulation, these whitening pens are professional strength (most brands contain only 5-10% hydrogen peroxide) that are effective without causing any sensitivity.  Results are usually seen within a few days and final results may last anywhere from a few months to a year.

 Whitening Strips

Another option to consider is whitening strips.  Whitening strips may be purchased at your local drugstore, mall, grocery store, etc.  They are very thin strips that are coated with a peroxide-based whitening gel.  These require more attention than whitening pens since application is generally twice as long, 30 minutes as opposed to a simple 30 second pen application.  They are also generally applied for fourteen days and results may be seen within a few days with permanent results lasting a few months to a year as well.

Whitening Rinses

Whitening rinses have become available and more popular within the last few years.  This method seems to be ridiculously easy since it only requires two swishes a day.  That being said, a 60 second swish twice a day generally isn’t going to give you the most effective results as opposed to the other mentioned teeth whitening methods that have much longer contact with the teeth.  Teeth whitening mouthwashes typically include everything you would find in your regular mouthwash along with added ingredients such as hydrogen peroxide to whiten teeth.  According to some experts, this method may take up to 12 weeks to see results; therefore it is the slowest and least noticeable of all teeth whitening treatments.

Now, let’s move on to Professional Teeth Whitening:

Tray-Based Tooth Whiteners

Tray-based teeth whitening methods are considered to be the most effective when used with a professionals’ recommendations according to experts.  Keep in mind there are both over-the-counter as well as professional tray-based teeth whiteners.  Teeth whitening trays differ across brands and products, so the effectiveness depends on the ingredients, duration of use, and the process utilized.    Professional tray-based teeth whiteners are the most effective since they are catered to your needs and are the only way to achieve permanent results.  These are administered by your dental professional at your local dental office or other professional healthcare center.  The most effective tray-based teeth whitening is deep bleaching.  Deep bleaching is done at-home and usually for 14 days.  For example, Start Pure’s™ deep bleaching process includes a revolutionary dual barrel syringe containing a separate bleaching agent and catalyst. Combining the catalyst and base to activate the bleaching agent only at the time of use is unique to Start Pure™ Deep. You mix the gel when you are ready to wear your trays. That’s when the bleaching agent becomes active and is in its most effective state, creating the best results possible.

In-Office Whitening

In-Office teeth whitening is the quickest way to whiten teeth effectively.  Although, in-office bleaching is not as effective as deep bleaching, results are more than satisfactory and successful.  Results are typically seen with just one teeth whitening session, but a few sessions are often times recommended/needed.  Some products and brands need treatments of 30 to 60 minutes, but Start Pure™ is the most innovative teeth whitening company that offers exceptional results in only 20 minutes!  Different gels and ingredients are used across brands in combination with heat, led/UV lights, and/or a laser.  For example, Zoom! previously used a UV light in combination with its gel, but UV lights have proven to be harmful- cancer causing.  Newer teeth whitening methods are adapting to LED lights which are not harmful, and Start Pure™ has even adapted Super Violet Technology™ which is the newest of its kind.  The in-office teeth whitening method is one of the most expensive, costing anywhere from a few hundred to $1000+.  Remember to always take your geographical location into consideration.

We hope you found this information helpful and are ready to change the way you feel about your smile.  Remember to keep realistic goals when you’re considering teeth whitening.  It is important to take into consideration all the methods we mentioned and hopefully find the method that is right for you!  So go ahead and whiten your teeth, you deserve it!

Things to Consider Before Teeth Whitening

Considering whitening your teeth?  Read this before you commit to anything:

Teeth whitening is not for everyone.  And by everyone we mean some people are much better candidates than others.  Anyone interested in whitening their teeth should realize that teeth whitening solutions will only predictably lighten natural tooth surfaces (any product claiming otherwise should be a red flag).  Another thing to consider is the natural color of your teeth.  Genetically speaking, some people are born with whiter teeth but coffees, teas, smoking, and other staining foods have darkened the teeth.  These people are some of the best candidates for teeth whitening.  Age is also a factor to consider; the younger adult typically experiences better results due to better oral health.

Porcelain crowns:  These will not lighten but it is important to realize that crowns are often lighter than the natural tooth, so whitening all of your teeth can definitely be beneficial.

Fillings:  These may appear lighter after whitening if they are thin and translucent because the background tooth structure is lightening.

Although we are trying to keep this post informational, the picture above shows results of a smoker who had the ‘deep bleach’ procedure done.  The Start Pure™ ‘deep bleach’ system consists of 14 days at home then two sessions in office.  That being said, he clearly had to take the longer route to get the results he desired.

Final tips:  Remember to do your research before you commit to anything.  Once you decide on what you want/need, follow through with all of your dental professionals’ recommendations.  You just have to commit!

Good luck!
